Yodha Featuring Sidharth Malhotra & Raashii Khanna with Disha Patani Presented by Karan Joha

"Do you know that a small magnet, can hijack an entire plane? Have you heard about this peculiar phenomenon? If you're intrigued, there's a two-and-a-half-hour class underway at the theater. The subject of the session is 'Warrior,' a film that will keep your mind engaged and even leave Bollywood in a spin. Before delving into this labyrinthine narrative, there's one crucial condition to accept: refrain from employing logic or common sense. Just keep your eyes glued to the screen.

Picture this: thousands of feet above the ground, a plane soars with 200 passengers aboard. Suddenly, an unconscious man is discovered in the plane's restroom. Who is he? What is his purpose? Nobody knows, but his presence has sent ripples through the entire aircraft. This seemingly heroic figure has now assumed the role of the plane's primary antagonist. His intentions remain a mystery, yet his face has been imprinted on everyone's minds. The dictionary may define 'hijack' as the scariest word, but what's truly astonishing is that this individual has achieved something unprecedented: uniting India and Pakistan in a common cause. Both nations now harbor a desire to eliminate him.

Is Yodha based on true story?

Imagine yourself locked in a room with a lost key, only for a murderer to accidentally enter. Would you leap out of the window or collapse in fear? Similarly, the story of the warrior is anything but straightforward. There are no clear heroes or villains; the lines between them blur. The film is filled with twists and turns, delivering countless surprises that will leave you breathless. Such ingenious storytelling, presenting past events in the present while planting seeds of doubt, makes for a riveting cinematic experience.

However, the film overlooks the potential of utilizing the airborne aspect, which could have elevated its status as an action thriller. Despite this, 'Warrior' remains a gripping spy thriller, demanding audience engagement and intellect. Siddharth Malhotra's performance, reminiscent of his role in 'Neerja,' leaves a lasting impact. However, it's Disha Patani who steals the show, venturing beyond expectations and manipulating audience emotions masterfully. While Malhotra delivers as expected, his efforts to portray shades of grey fall short. The film lacks substantial emotional investment, although Patani's performance ensures that her character will be remembered long after the credits roll.

What is the total collection of Yodha?

In conclusion, 'Warrior' is not an extraordinary film, but it promises enjoyment for those who watch it. Don't mistake it for another 'Sher Shah' or 'Neerja'; it occupies a unique category, offering glimpses of both. Therefore, I award 'Warrior' three and a half stars. It delivers non-stop action, suspense, and thrills, striking a perfect balance. However, it falls short in neglecting the airborne factor and delivering an emotional payoff. If you're a Siddharth Malhotra fan, a trip to the theater may be worthwhile; otherwise, wait for its release on OTT platforms. 'Warrior' wasn't crafted for the big screen, unfortunately.
